’Bare Your Soul’ Contest

Regular visitors to our DA counterpart might notice that our club ID is shockingly out of date. I think it’s time we had a new one! And to coincide with the new SV format for 2009, I thought that it would be appropriate if you contributed! Anyone who has seen the SC4 trailers on TV or on the Internet will be familiar to the concept. I’m talking about this:

I think that this is an incredible trailer, and I hope that we can recreate this for the club ID.

Concept

For this contest, all we ask is for you to create a picture of your OWN OC that you have created using either CAS systems from SC3 or SC4. In this picture, your character must be shown clearly, on their own, holding their weapon. The picture should not have any text on it, and should have dimensions of at least 441x 670 pixels (portrait) although smaller images can be used if there is no way you can meet the dimensions given.

As well as this, you must specify in the description of your piece a single word that describes your character’s motivation for their quest. For example, my OC ‘Tialys Arcanna’ is searching for Soul Calibur as her family was killed by a person wielding Soul Edge. Her quest was also foretold by the Greek gods. Therefore, some words that could describe her could be ‘Destiny’, ‘Vengeance’ or ‘Sorrow’, etc.

Here are some suggestions for words to use:

- Love
- Hate
- Vengeance
- Revenge
- Destiny
- Power
- Truth
- Salvation

…and so on. You can suggest any word you want.

Winners & Prizes

Technically, there are no winners or losers! Anyone who makes a piece following the above rules ‘wins’! The prize is to have you piece displayed in our club ID, and to be credited as a contributing artist. Free advertising for your OC and artwork!

Rules & Deadlines

1. The artwork you submit MUST be your own, or contributed to by you in the majority (e.g your lineart with someone else’s colouring). If that case is the latter, all contributing artist should be notified and credited.

2. Your art must follow the guidelines stated in the ‘Concept’ part of this contest description. If there are any problems, PM me on the Soul Vortex forum or on my DeviantART page (username is ‘Fweam’ in both cases).

3. The closing date for this contest is 1st March 2009, however it is very flexible, and can be extended on request if the need is great.
